In her welcome speech, Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, WMSU President, thanked Dr. Shirley Halili-Cruz, Chairman, NCAA National Committee on Dance, for choosing WMSU as one of the venues for the Sayaw Pinoy 2023.
The dance concert was performed by different world-class dance companies like Halili-Cruz Dance Company (Manila), Lahing Batangan Dance Troupe of Lycium of the Philippines (Batangas), Sinukwan Kapampangan Performing Arts (Pampanga), and Melengas Dance Ensemble (Pagadian City).
Sayaw Pinoy is a long-running program of the NCAA in celebration of national arts month. This program is a dance festival that features dance artists from different regions, providing them the opportunity to showcase their works to different clusters of audiences all over the country, which helps increase their awareness and appreciation of various Filipino dance forms.
