Resource Generation Unit
The "Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997," also known as Republic
Act No. 8292, was passed in 1997, and it significantly advanced the
University's corporate production function. The law allowed for a
fundamental change in the way public universities and colleges are
funded, giving them corporate rights while cutting state funding.
“The Resource Generation office shall function as the unit responsible for
the generation of earned income, grants, and gifts for the University.
Earned income shall be sourced from income generating projects (IGP)
from sales of products and services, payment for professional services,
rental of facilities, and other interest income.”

funds for the university's programs
and projects related to instruction,
research, and extension.
Goal
Resource Generation Unit
To provide needed support to the university’s cause-oriented
programs, including research and extension activities;
To offer quality products and services to clients at reasonable
and affordable rates;
To operate IGPs that provide income to the university;
To advance the competence of the various colleges for
essential IGP initiatives.
To involve students in on-the-job training and research
activities in related business enterprises

The University has four (4) general clusters of Income
Generating Projects, namely:
Agribusiness;
Training and Professional Services;
Retail and Merchandising, and;
Auxiliary Services

Resource Generation Unit
This includes activities that are agriculture-based /
oriented projects that are operated on commercial basis.
The projects under this category include the following:
Crop projects
Animal and livestock projects
Poultry projects
Food processing
Agribusiness / Food Production
Resource Generation Unit
This refers to projects that interface or are parallel with
academic and training services, on and off campus, and
are operated as income generation programs. Included
in this category are both existing and proposed projects
of the following units under the Resource Generation:
Language Development and Resource Center
Center for Continuing Education
Professional Consultancies
Training and Professional Services
Resource Generation Unit
This cluster is involved in the production / manufacture,
fabrication, processing, and retailing of goods, products,
services, including the repair and maintenance of trade and
industrial goods and machines operated within the business
framework. Under this cluster are the following units:
Garment Shoppe
University Press, Bookstore and Souvenir Shop
Commercial Facilities Rentals

Resource Generation Unit
The Auxiliary Services Unit includes IGPs that provide support services
and facilities support to students, faculty and non-teaching personnel
and to entities outside the university. The services offered are the
following:
