College of Agriculture

The College of Agriculture envisions to be an active agent of economic and social change that excels and leads in the art, science and practice of developing human resources with integrative knowledge responsive to the well being of agricultural communities. It is hoped to provide a well oriented, skilled and knowledgeable professionals and practitioners with excellent leadership qualities in agricultural systems in education, research and development, extension capability and sustainable agricultural production.

The courses offered in this college are the following:
Undergraduate Programs:

BSA is a four – year course with curriculum which is based on competency standards in Agriculture. It emphasizes in carrying out the sciences, art, ethics, management and entrepreneurial scheme in the production and processing of the plants utilized for food, fiber, biomedicine, industrial and other purposes with in the context of the integrated and sustainable Agricultural resource system.

Graduates of this course can be employed as farm managers, technicians, researchers, extension workers, instructors in agricultural institutions and in government and private agricultural agencies.

A four – year course with curricular program designed to meet the challenges of the future through equipping students with skill to balance the natural resources, human and economic contributions that affect the agricultural sustainability, specifically the animal industry. The curricular program addresses the needs of the times without compromising the future generations.

Wide career opportunities are open to the graduates of this course, this includes farm managers, consultant of animal projects, animal health products, technicians of private and government agencies, researcher, sales representative and instructor in agricultural educational institutions.

BSAB is a four – year degree program designed to prepare students for entrepreneurial and managerial responsibilities in farms, agro – industries, banks and other financial institutions as well as public and private agencies which are engaged in planning and implementing agribusiness development projects and programs.

Employment opportunities of BSBA graduates include the following: manager of any entrepreneurial business, agricultural research of banking/ financial institutions, instructor in any agricultural colleges and universities, agricultural entrepreneurship.

BSAE is a five – year program which integrates the basic engineering principles of the allied engineering courses such as mechanical, civil and electrical with its applications in agriculture. A license is required for the practice of the profession both in p[ublic and private entities.

These are various opportunities for employment when one is a licensed agricultural engineer. It varies from farm manager, sales engineer, consultant, supervisor of agricultural projects, instructors in higher institutions of learning offering agriculture and agricultural engineering courses.

The BAT is a two – year course designed as a ladder-type General Agriculture program which initially starts with DAT and allows the two – year Diploma graduate to pursue a bachelor’s degree after complying with the university’s admission requirements.

Graduates of this course could find Agricultural business opportunities and can be employed as field technician, research, farm manager and even teach agriculture in some agricultural colleges and universities.
