In a significant stride towards intellectual property protection and innovation, the College of Home Economics (CHE) joined hands with the Intellectual Property Unit – Innovation and Technology Support Office (IPU-ITSO) to conduct an Intellectual Property (IP) Consultation last June 23, 2023, at the CHE Function Hall. The collaboration aimed at identifying potential IP applications and processing Copyright Applications for a range of modules and instructional materials.
During the consultation, a total of 55 copyright applications were meticulously reviewed and prepared for submission to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). These applications cover a diverse array of educational materials and resources, emphasizing the CHE’s commitment to safeguarding the intellectual assets produced by its dedicated faculty and staff.
The IP Consultation served as an essential step in securing the intellectual property rights of the college’s innovative creations. It not only protects the hard work and dedication invested in these materials but also promotes the continued development and sharing of knowledge within the academic community.
The collaboration between CHE and IPU-ITSO signifies the institution’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and intellectual property protection. It reflects their dedication to nurturing creativity and ensuring that the valuable knowledge generated within the college remains protected and accessible for future generations.
As these Copyright Applications are endorsed to IPOPHL, the College of Home Economics anticipates a successful outcome that will serve as a model for other academic institutions in safeguarding their intellectual property assets. This collaboration serves as a testament to the importance of recognizing and protecting the intellectual property that underpins the education and research efforts of our academic institutions.
